Chateauguay hands Halifax second loss

The struggles continue for the Halifax McDonald’s at the Telus Cup midget hockey championship.
The Atlantic champions were outshot 45-31 in a 7-3 loss to the Chateauguay Grenadiers Wednesday at the national tournament in Moose Jaw, Sask.
Halifax (0-2-1) trailed 7-1 after 40 minutes before Johnny Jones and Barrett Dachyshyn scored third-period goals
McDonald’s goalie Justin Ritcey started the game but allowed five goals on 21 shots before he was pulled at the six-minute mark of the second period. Reilly Pickard made 22 saves in relief.
Tyler Hylland had a goal and three assists to lead the Grenadiers (1-0-2).
Luc Poirier had a first-period goal for Halifax, which plays today against the Okanagan (0-2-2).
